Highlights from NYU Stern Alumni of Minnesota Mixer with NYU Club of Minnesota

During our recent and successful fall reception and mixer with the NYU Club of Minnesota (See News and Events for details), Hugh and I had an opportunity to touch base with a number of Stern alumni about plans for future events. While some Club members expressed interest in meetings to discuss business related issues, others preferred a social-only agenda, anticipating a special Holiday event. To better help us set the course, we will soon be emailing a short survey to garner your opinions. The survey will address future meeting content, location, time and frequency of events. We anticipate holding a subsequent and open planning meeting following our assessment of your feedback at which time we’ll set plans to best meet your interests.
Thank you for your continued interest and participation,

Dick Weinrib, Club Co-Chair

NYU Stern and NYU Alumni Kick-Off Reception Deemed a Success October 12, 2010

Thursday, September 30th 2010, Dick Saliterman (NYU Law ’73) graciously hosted a Fall reception for the Stern Alumni of Minnesota Club and the newly formed NYU Alumni Club of Minnesota. The reception was held at Saliterman and Siefferman, P.C’s Minneapolis offices. The location proved to be a beautiful backdrop for an enjoyable night of socializing, food and drinks.

We appreciate, of course, the diligent efforts of Sonal Patney, NYU Club President with support of Tom Marver, NYU Club VP of Marketing.

Attending the event were Alumni from all NYU Schools, (Stern, Law, Medicine, Steinhardt, Tisch, CAS (formerly WSC), SCPS, Silver, Wagner, Gallatin, and Courant). The Stern contingent included such alumni as John Petroff, Jeff Mellas, Alan Rice, Steve Levin, Hugh Williams, Tom Lockhart, Dick Weinrib and more. (Our apologies to anyone we missed!)

Following the reception, a great event just got better, as Dick Saliterman led us to dinner at the Minneapolis Cub, where members discussed plans for future meetings, e.g., a curated dinner at the Minnesota History Museum or Walker Art Center. Both clubs will be meeting soon to discuss detailed plans, so please check back soon for details. Other possibilities included joint events in cooperation with such other local Alumni clubs from Wharton, Penn, Columbia, Chicago and MIT.

Before closing, special thanks to Hugh Williams, our Club’s own Ansel Adams, who took many of the photos seen below.

And finally, thanks to everyone who was able to join us at this special NYU event. We hope to see as many of you as we can at our next venue.

Dick Weinrib, Club-Co Chair
