Joint Stern – Twin Cities Alumni Network Event: Networking Reception and Panel Discussion on the Topic of Supplier Diversity.

The Twin Cities Alumni Network (a collaboration between clubs from NYU-Stern, University of Pennsylvania, Wharton, Harvard, Yale and Columbia) extends a warm invitation to alumni and guests of clubs from Northwestern, Kellogg, Chicago, Booth, Brown, Princeton, MIT, UVA, Stanford, the Twin Cities Interclub (NESCAC, Five Colleges and The Sisters schools) and Syracuse University to join them at an alumni networking event and presentation focusing on Supplier Diversity.

When: Tuesday, June 14, 2011
5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Panel discussion to begin at 6:30 pm sharp.

What: Panel Discussion on the Topic of Supplier Diversity
Hosted and moderated by Duane Ramseur, President of the Midwest Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC), an all-star panel of Supplier Diversity Officers from the University of Minnesota, Best Buy and SuperValu will focus on the ways that shifting US demographics are influencing large organizations and their behavior towards minority populations on the demand side, and supplier diversity on the backend.

Leading minority entrepreneurs Prince Wallace and Dr. Tim Childs will share how they are making their voices heard beyond traditional corporate set asides and government mandates. Dr. Childs was recently invited to Washington where he met with President Obama and the Pentagon about his work. Some of the obstacles these entrepreneurs have had to overcome would inspire any audience.
